Have you signed up to any children’s classes with your little ones?

Are they in the week or on a weekend?

I’ve found that weekend classes for little ones are pretty hard to come by.

In fact I have struggled to find a class that runs on a Saturday or Sunday anywhere.

Until I found Moo Music that is.

And what a delight it is.

If you haven’t come across Moo Musical before, it is:

Moo Music is a great fun and interactive regular music session for 0 to 5 year old children and their parents, grandparents or carers too, where the children sing, dance, play, learn and have fun while doing it.

And it’s lively, friendly, funny and engaging.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know that I am full time working mum and that essentially means that I can’t take my daughter to any classes during the week. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to.

Although we have all of the normal family activities planned on a weekend, like food shopping. Seeing friends, family, going away etc – I still want to spend some time with my 1 year old singing and dancing and being silly.

I went back to work after 8 months due to financial reasons and although it felt ok at the time, I did feel I missed out on all of those lovely baby classes that lots of my friends were going to. I didn’t manage to go to sensory classes or sing and sign. I did try a baby yoga class once, but Isla is not a sit down and relax kind of child!

Which is why the discovery of Moo Music and its weekend children’s classes has been such a joy.

Each week is different and has it’s own theme and this one particular class was about taking a trip to the farm.

The songs are catchy and have actions and movements to go with them.

The songs this week included:
Driving In My Car
Wake Up, Good Morning
Maggie Moo
Penguin Parade
Sing Little Birdy

I often find myself going home singing them in my head.

What is also great about this class is that little ones from 0-5 can attend. There are lots of different ways that the children can be involved – they can sit and watch, sit and sing, stand up and dance – whatever mood takes their fancy. It’s all ok.

My daughter just often sways with an occasional wave of the hand too!

Rowan and Carly who run the Chelmsford branch are full of beans and excitement – they make the class really entertaining.

They are also super prepared.

There are lots of props to use throughout the class, with the parachute and bubbles perhaps being the favourite of most of the children.

Each song has a prop, movements and of course some catchy words that we can all remember.

This class is a complete joy and one that I hope we’ll see through until Isla is going to School.

There is so much to be gained by going along – not only does my daughter have a creative outlet, but she gets to spend some quality time with her mum and dad doing it all.

And it’s also a great way to meet other mums and dads as well.
